Feministing! + meeting notes

Our Wednesday night panel with the editors of the Feministing blog was a smashing success! Vanessa told us about the ups and downs of feminist blogging; Samhita spoke about intersectionality and carving out a space within the feminist movement for women of color; Miriam challenged feminist stereotypes with her own story of coming out as a genderqueer feminist. And our own Sophia rocked it with her vision of a future feminist world! WSAC learned a lot from these excellent feminists, as did the other **200** people who came!!

Come Protest the abortion coverage ban!!!

Join us on December 2
at 12:00 p.m. at the Minnesota State Capitol to say NO to the
Abortion-Coverage Ban!

By now you've heard that the U.S. House has
passed a health-reform bill with the most restrictive abortion language in a
generation. This amendment represents a radical departure from the status quo
because it would block women's access to abortion coverage in the new
health
system. Anti-choice legislators in the Senate have said they will introduce
similar language when they begin to debate their version of the health-reform
legislation.
