TONIGHT 3/30: The Minnesota Student Association is our student government on campus.Cortez Riley and Mandi Stebbins are running for president and
vice-president, and would love your support tonight at the debates which
they will both be participating in. These debates are for next year's term,
and are tonight from 5-7pm in the Coffman Theater.
Cortez and Mandi are running for 'The Transparent Democracy', and are
seeking changes in tuition hikes, the fees committee's structure, and a
student-based election process for our next U of MN president. Please come

• Tomorrow, 3/31/10, from 11:30-4pm, WSAC will co-host the LGBTQ Health Fair! Stop by our room (Coffman 202), and the Queer Student Cultural Center (down the hall) to meet representatives from progressive clinics and advocacy centers. Go upstairs to room 326 for free HIV testing!
• Also tomorrow, at noon: join the Graduate Student Workers United to protest unfair fees. Meet at the Social Sciences tower on the west bank.
• Thurs, 4/1 at 6pm: WSAC and Amnesty present the 2nd to last installation of the Global Women film series: “Finding Dawn,” a documentary about the more than 500 mostly indigenous women who have been missing or murdered in the past 30 years. Come for discussion about this largely ignored and unreported tragedy. In Coffman 202. Free snacks. • Join WSAC, Voices Merging, and the Cypher Coalition for: From Vices to Verses: A New Era of Hip Hop Education, Art and Action
Three-day conference at the University of Minnesota to highlight hip hop activism
April 9: “I Used to Love H.E.R.: Bring Back the Love,” exploring hip hop feminism and women’s roles—past, present and future—in the culture. Keynote speaker: activist and former Green Party Vice Presidential candidate Rosa Clemente.
April 10: “Remixing Borders, Transcending Boundaries,” focusing on using hip hop as a tool to create unity and move beyond generational, national and cultural boundaries. Keynote speaker: hip hop activist and author Bakari Kitwana.
April 11: “Us,” focusing on hip hop’s power to heal and transform individuals and communities through organizing, activism and youth engagement. Keynote speaker: educator and multidisciplinary artist Marc Bamuthi Joseph.
Other presenters include filmmaker Rachel Ramist, Chaka Mkali of the Hope Community Center, Sage Morgan Hubbard of Northwestern University, Ruth Nicole Brown of the University of Illinois, poet and activist Tish Jones, rapper/poet/writer Kyle “Guante” Myhre, photographer B-Fresh and many more.
On Saturday, April 10,***DEAD PREZ*** and noted Twin Cities performers Toki Wright, Maria Isa, PosNoSys, Ill Chemistry, the Tru Ruts crew and others will take over the Cabooze for a special concert.
