first wsac meeting next monday!
Hi WSACers,
First of all, welcome to the new wsac/upcc members who recently signed up. Many of you signed up during our counter-protest of the
Genocide Awareness Project (the anti-abortion group that misuses the term
genocide). Thank you for showing your support for our pro-choice work, and
we hope you will continue to support and participate in WSAC's and UPCC's
future endeavors.
Many of you also attended our Wednesday night showing of the film "4
Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days." Thank you for coming, and for your thoughtful
contributions to the post-film discussion. I know the film made me more
determined to continue my work to keep abortion safe and legal in the U.S.;
I hope that you all feel inspired to do the same. The screening was part of
our Global Women film series- if any of you have good ideas for movies we
could show later in the semester, please email wsac@umn.edu.
Speaking of continuing pro-choice work: wsac is sending at least one car to
Fargo on 9/23 to defend the Red River Women's Clinic on the first day of 40
Days of Life--an anti-choice campaign designed to intimidate abortion
clinics and their patients. If you would like to join us, please email
wsac@umn.edu.
On a lighter note, I will be tabling/recruiting new students at the St.
Paul Student Center Fair next Tues. from 10-2pm. If anyone would like to
help me, I would very much appreciate it
