WSAC Meeting Minutes 10/5/09: Discover Exceptional Women Week

-Evaluation of “La Boda” for those that went to the film screening

-Next Global Women is “Provoked”: a WSAC/Aurora Center event. Carla is designing the poster. Amanda and Carla are hanging up the posters. Who can assist them? Should be a rockin’ good time! We also brought up the idea of keeping Global Women around since the success has been so great. More opinions on this would be great.

-Sex Ed for Everyone! Premiere this Wednesday 7pm in the West Bank Auditorium.
~Amanda and Grace passed out/put up remainder of posters post meeting 10/5.
~Carla, Grace, Brook are helping with set-up at 6pm on Wednesday.
~Amanda is the table person before and after the film screening.
~Andrea, Grace, Carla are helping clean up after (probably done before 10pm).
**Anymore volunteers to assist on any of these projects would be FANTASTIC!**
~Listen for Brook’s interview on Radio K! (program airs on Sundays at 9am)
~Can Pammy write a report of event for WSAC website, possibly Daily/Wake??

-Grace reported back on the Economic Fight Back Conference last Saturday in Chicago. Workshops were attended. Questions are welcome, just contact/ask Grace.

-October 7th 2009 (this Wednesday) U.S. Out of Afghanistan SDS rally: Noon in front of Coffman. WSAC representative is Grace. She will be giving a speech as well as participating in the street theatre going on. Check it out!
“Money for jobs & education not for war & occupation!” {Chant} --Suggestion by Kira.

-Sean Niemic, the whiny poophead from CFACTS wrote a column in the Daily. WSAC responded with a letter to the editor that was approved and sent.

-QSCC NCOW (National Coming Out Week): requested slam poets for 10/12 and/or talent for their drag show on Saturday 10/17. Some interest was shown. Let’s hear the opinions and start planning WSAC’ers!

-Sierra Club requested to use room 202 on Thursdays. Post SDS meetings. This was approved.

-Gallery of Excellence: Thursday November 19th 2009. Let’s show our work off here. Approved.
